OT Exchange 2020 -  FAQs

We have prepared the following information to assist you and to ensure you are updated as new information becomes available given the planned OT Exchange 2020 is now moving to a Virtual Conference on Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 September 2020. 

Why is the event moving to an online platform? 

In light of recent advice from the Australian Chief Medical Officer regarding non-essential mass gatherings should be cancelled as a result of COVID-19, Occupational Therapy Australia are adapting the OT Exchange into a Virtual Conference.

What happens if I already registered to attend?

As a current registered delegate for the OT Exchange the following options are available to you:

1. Retain your registration for the new dates and receive a refund or OTA credit note* for the difference in registration fees;

2. Transfer your registration to a colleague (as per T&C’s) if you are unable to attend the new dates;

3. Cancel your registration and receive a full refund or OTA credit note* 

*OTA credit note valid for 12 months and available for use towards future CPD and / or membership fees.

All cancellations must be made in writing to the event organisers at OTexchange@otaus.com.au.

How do I attend the Virtual Conference?

Our technology partners will provide the online platform via a link in an email which will be communicated to all registered attendees prior to the Virtual Conference.

Will my insurance cover the cancellation of my airfares to the event?

Flights and insurance are the responsibility of individual attendees.  Please check your insurance policies carefully and contact your provider.  As the OT Exchange will now be a virtual event please consider reviewing any bookings you have for flights by contacting your provider directly.

Will I receive a refund on my accommodation?

As the OT Exchange will now be a virtual event please consider reviewing any bookings you have for accommodation by contacting your provider directly.  If you have booked accommodation through our accommodation partner Crown, please call them directly on +61 3 9292 6660.  If you booked directly with another hotel, please refer to the individual hotel’s cancellation and refund policy.

I’m an Exhibitor.  What happens now?

OTA are currently preparing options for consideration as to how your organisation can be involved with the Virtual OT Exchange 2020.  Please bear with us whilst we fine tune the details and be assured that this information will be communicated as soon as possible.

I’m a Sponsor.  What happens now?

OTA are currently preparing options for consideration as to how your organisation can be involved with the Virtual OT Exchange 2020.  Please bear with us whilst we fine tune the details and be assured that this information will be communicated as soon as possible.

I’m a Presenter.  What happens now? 

If you are a confirmed presenter and able to adapt your presentation into an online format, please email otexchange@otaus.com.au indicating your willingness to participate along with the title of your presentation and all presenting author names.  We will then revise the program and be in touch with further details as to how we obtain the online presentations in the required format.  

I'm a Poster Presenter.  What happens now? 

If you are a confirmed presenter and able to adapt your static poster into an online format, please email otexchange@otaus.com.au indicating your willingness to participate along with the title of your poster and all author names.  We are currently exploring the digital options for your poster presentation and will be in contact with further details as they become available.  

I joined Occupational Therapy Australia when registering for the Conference to take advantage of the member rate for registration.  Is my membership still valid?

Membership benefits are applicable year-round to individuals.  Membership fees won’t be reimbursed due to the face to face format of the Conference changing to a Virtual Conference.
