CPD Presenter EOI

Occupational Therapy Australia provides accessible and relevant professional education and resources for continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities.

Occupational Therapists develop their skills, knowledge-sharing and connections through our webinars, workshops and online learning resources. 

We are now accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI) to present CPD as part of our 2022/2023 program and have outlined below the process of what information is needed to make an EOI for consideration by our Peer Advisory Panel. 

What is included in an EOI?

Presenters will be asked to include an explanation of their CPD EOI topic, the participant engagement expected and how it will contribute to the evidence based CPD offered by OTA. Your EOI will include:

  • Summary of previous presentation experience
  • At what level the content is targeted
  • Defined learning objectives
  • Core references to support the evidence based CPD
  • An outline of why OTs should attend

This will be in addition to professional documents:

  • Resume
  • Certificate of insurance
  • Proof of registration with AHPRA (if relevant to your qualification)

What support is available for presenters?

In presenting CPD with OTA, a number of supports are available to leverage the marketing and network of OTA to provide value for first time presenters to experienced

For CPD EOI

OTA provides the following supports

  • Advice on connecting to relevant and experienced peers
  • Advice on content format and platform options
  • Work with presenters on topic relevancy and attracting targeted audiences

For presentations

OTA can help you grow your presentations

  • Promotion through OTA Marketing channels
  • Reach OTs interested in your area of practice

For virtual presentations

OTA can help enhance your virtual presentations

  • Talk through features, including breakout rooms and whiteboard
  • Test quality of audio and video
  • Assistance from coordinator in ensuring setup is working correctly
  • Provide introduction to the event, including acknowledgment of country, intro duction to presenter, etc

Presentation types

Blended Learning

Blended learning is combination or “blend” of eLearning and Workshop: Face-to-face.

eLearning

eLearning is online modules and activities created by the presenter and completed within a Learning Management System (LMS). eLearning produces a certificate once a passing grade or completion rate is met. This could include a Pre-recorded Video

Pre-Recorded Video

Pre-recorded Videos are of the presenter delivering content without participants present, can be uploaded / delivered as part of eLearning if there are any activities / survey / etc to be completed once the content has been viewed

Live Webinar

A webinar is where the presenter(s) deliver the content without input from attendees. Attendees can be invited to submit questions via text using Q&A functions only and will be read out / responded to by the presenter(s). Webinars generally run for 1-2hrs.

Webinar Series

A webinar series (2 or more sessions) is where the presenter(s) deliver the content without input from attendees. Attendees can be invited to submit questions via text using Q&A functions only and will be read out / responded to by the presenter(s). Each webinar session generally run for 1-2hrs, building upon the content from the previous session(s)

Workshop: Face-to-Face

Workshops: Face-to-Face is when all content is delivered in person, in a classroom style setting and may include activities or be in a lecture style. Only course materials & end of course satisfaction surveys are made available online. Workshops that require eLearning style activities for pre, post and/or during the workshop are classified as Blended Learning and require participants to have an electronic device available

Workshop: Online

Workshops: Online is where all content is delivered via video conferencing and may include activities or be in a lecture style. Workshops: Online may also include eLearning activities but is not classified as blended learning.

After your Lodgment

Confirming your Lodgment

Once your EOI is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive this email, your lodgment has not been successfully completed. You should go back into the portal and under the "Your submissions" tab complete any missing information and submit it. Should you have any further queries or wish to make any edits to your lodgment, please contact the CPD team via info@otaus.com.au or phone 1300 682 878.

Lodgment Review

Once submitted, EOIs to provide CPD will be evaluated by a peer review panel against a standardised criteria framework.

Author Notification

Please allow six (6) weeks from your lodgment date for the review and notification period. Presenters will be contacted via email by the CPD Events team with notification and feedback.
